Sue Rose is Live Bait Theatre’s Emerging Artist-in-Residence

Live Bait Theatre is pleased to announce that Sue Rose is the company’s Emerging Artist-in-Residence for their 2020/21 season. Sue is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been active in the theatre community in Sackville, New Brunswick since 2007 as an actor, a costume designer and more recently, a playwright.

Her first play, Safe Harbour, was staged by Performers’ Theatre Company in 2017. Her play Zeus In A Zoot Suit was selected for staging by The Saint John Theatre Company through their Script Happens program in 2018 and The Plucking Dark Ages was selected to receive a staged reading during the NotaBle Acts Summer Festival in 2019. She directed her play, One-Eyed Fish And The Drowned World, as part of Live Bait’s inaugural New Works Festival in Sackville, July 2019. Her new play Tell The Bees has also been selected for staging during the 2020 New Works Festival. She participated in the PARC Colony program in May of 2020 working with dramaturge, Sara Tilley to develop her play, The Last Flight To Enceladus. Her short play, Avery Weatherbee’s Grand Journey Of Exploration was presented as a part of Live Bait’s second New Works Festival in July 2020. Her play A Banishment Of Poets will be staged by Performers’ Theatre Company in the fall of 2020. She currently serves on the board of Performers’ Theatre Company and Sue reports she is, “happy to be the Emerging Artist in Residence with Live Bait theatre for 2020-21”.S_Rose_pic
