Live Bait Young Company Summer Drama Camps

The Play is the Thing – Full Day Camps, 9 am – 4 pm

For grades 5 to 8 – July 9 – 13 – a one act play presentation (to register online click here).

For ages High School and up – August 13 – 17  – an adapted Shakespeare presentation (to register online click here).

Description: Full day camps of fun and theatre skills, learning how to use your voice and your body to become a character and interpret a script. Includes training in all of the things that go into making a play including tech, front of house, and publicity!  A final performance will be held at the end of each workshop.

Cost: $90 first child in a family, $45 subsequent sibling.

A fun exploration of making theatre with games, improvisation and a final performance for friends and family.

Cost: $40 first child in a family, $20 subsequent sibling.

Composing With Sound Workshop

Live Bait is also excited to be teaming up with local music teacher Dr. Jeff Martin to offer “Composing with Sounds: A 2-day morning workshop in sound design and composition” for ages 9 – 17 (or younger with prior approval). In this workshop students will: create original sounds and music on their own computers; use a range of free software tools to transform everyday sounds into amazing new gestures and textures; and learn how to mix these sounds to produce interesting soundtracks for videos, games and other purposes. No prior experience is needed. Students are asked to bring their own laptop computer and headphones, all other material will be provided. This workshop will be held on August 8 and 9 and the workshop fee is $40.

Live Bait Offers Summer Theatre and Sound Workshops

Live Bait Theatre is excited to be offering three weeks of theatre workshops for young people in July and August, and new this year they will also be offering a sound design workshop. A “Theatre is Fun” half day camp will be held July 3 – 6 for children in grades 2 to 4, with a focus on fun exploration of making theatre with games, improvisation and a final performance for friends and family. The price for this workshop is $40. Live Bait will also offer two “The Play is the Thing” full day workshops for older students. In these camps participants will learn how to use their voices and their bodies to become a character and interpret a script.
